ENGLISH IS A CRITICAL SKILL
Buddy was out for awhile and his brother was getting into trouble. He quit school. He is back at Hope House now. There is a very critical need for our GAP school that we are building up as we can. I expect we will bring in a second teacher soon. When the children quit going to school, they can only get back in once a year in the first week of June. If they are in our GAP school, they have a far better chance of returning to school.
Many children here are not in school because of lack of support.
We can enroll the children in public school only once a year, the first week in June. When children drop out of school or do not have their needed documents, they are left sitting out until they can get enrolled again. We started our own school to fill in the gap and keep the children plugged into a learning environment. Since the children are not learning English in the public school, this is one of our main areas of focus. Our plan is to grow our school into a full private school.
